Powerpoint Presentation
This year a select number of students will be participating in a field trip to Bamfield Marine Station on Vancouver Island's west coast, April 13-15. Bamfield is reached via logging roads. Students participate in a number of activities including field trips to rocky and sandy beaches, boat trips, plankton tows, classroom sessions, and forest walks. All activities are administered by the public education staff at Bamfield Marine Station, safety is their foremost concern.
This trip is an exceptional opportunity for those students who see themselves pursuing sciences at a post secondary level, especially life sciences. The cost is dependant on the number of participants, but is usually in the range of $350-$400. This includes transportation, accomodation, most meals, instruction, and ferry costs. This year we did not receive any financial support so we are setting the cost at $400/student.
If you would like more information than is provided here please contact me at SDSS.
I've attached a previous years itinerary for you to look at.
