National beach champions once again...but this time in the senior women's division. Incredible effort and skill. Can't wait to see what's next!

Do your parents have air miles (the safeway/shell ones)? If so, they could save us $100 on the car rental in Vegas by ordering this coupon.
I've got one already with my air miles, but don't have any more. If you can order one of these coupons, and Budget excepts it on our rental, I'll discount the cost of the trip. We could use 4 or 5 more. Cheers, B Hi Everyone!
Well, we're halfway through August, so September is just around the corner. I hope everyone has been enjoying our great weather this summer. Some things to start thinking about: 1) Tryouts Senior Tryouts will be Tuesday and Wednesday after school. I realize that's RIGHT AWAY, but we have a tournament on Friday/Saturday at Seaquam. 2) Important dates throughout the volleyball season Here is the calendar for our upcoming season (junior volleyball information is on here too). This is the most ambitious schedule I've ever put together, partly because I want our team to get LOTS of games throughout this season. We have a good mix of tournaments and should be in one of the most competitive AAAA leagues again (last year, 3 of the 5 teams in our league finished top 10 at the provincials...Elgin, EMS and us). Some key dates: Sept.27/28 TWU (always a competitive tournament), Oct.4/5 Camosun (our one road trip to the island), Oct.18/19/25/26 (tournaments we are running, I need everyone reffing), Nov.1/2 Red Serge (a lead up to the provincials). Fraser Valleys are Nov.13 to 18 and Provincials are in Penticton Nov.28-30. 3) Las Vegas Those of you who have elected to go to Las Vegas for some exhibition and tournament play should be getting excited! Our travel plans have been finalized and this is the current itinerary. You will miss school on the Wednesday and Thursday, but should be back midday Sunday. Friday is a PD Day. I'm setting the final cost for the trip at $800 per player. I realize that is a little higher than I first estimated, but there are fewer people going than I anticipated. Regardless, you will all have ample opportunity to earn money running our tournaments and FNH's this season. MOST of you paid the $500 down payment, so only owe SDSS $300. Some of you owe a little more, some a little less; we'll sort all of it out the first two days back. Please inform your parents though, as I will need final payments soon after the school year begins. Enjoy the rest of your break, we are going to have a very busy autumn! B. |
