Calendar. Reffing assignments will be discussed this week. Don't panic.
Great trip to Las Vegas ladies. I know at times it felt like we were barely treading water, but over the long run, the experience should prove priceless. Kamehameha finished 2nd to last years winner, Torrey Pines (26-24, 23-25, 26-24) in the final. No wonder they were tough! Centennial, the school we played our crossover match against, was also in the final for their division. All of the results are here and here.
I'm looking forward to an exciting season. First league game tomorrow, 5:30 @ Guildford Park. Links on the last post have been adjusted accordingly.
Just came out today. There may be some changes still but here it is at the moment. I've also updated the calendar with games and practices. Practices will be every Tuesday at 3pm unless I indicate otherwise. Also, most Thursdays, same time. You can check the Fraser Valley web site anytime, for up to date schedule info. We are AAAA Girls Central.
Hi Everyone,
Great job at Riverside today! A couple ups and downs but nice strong finish and some great team chemistry developing. Some updates: The AAAA schedule is in the works. It should be completed by next week. I can confirm now that we will be playing on Monday and Wednesday evenings again. Game times will be 6pm or 7:30pm, best of 5. This means practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. My preference is either 3:00 or 5:00, but never later than that. Please plan your lives accordingly. Also interesting, several teams in our neck of the woods have either dropped to AAA (DSS) or Tier 2 (Semiahmoo). This means there were not enough teams to form a separate division, so we are now in a division of 10, all south of the Fraser. What this means? We only play every team once, we travel further, and our league is more diverse. I feel this is a good thing (well, maybe not the travel part). Finally, our league starts WEDNESDAY!....but we got a bye. This means we WILL be playing the Monday night after we return from Vegas. Vegas. Please get those waiver forms to me this week and any outstanding money. Also, details of insurance (ie. any phone numbers I need to call), would be appreciated. Please plan on checking one bag and bringing a personal item (bag; one that fits under the seat). If you bring a carry on that is not a problem on the way down, but Allegiant will charge you on the way back. WHAT YOU MUST PACK: volleyball gear, another pair of runners for walking the strip and hiking in the foothills, passport or suitable ID for crossing the border, some money and/or bank card. PACK LIGHT: besides your vball gear, bring a couple bathing suits for the pool, and clothes for a couple more days. Don't bring a new outfit for everyday, you won't wear it all, especially if you do some shopping on day 1 or 2. When we go to a dinner and show, smart casual is fine, nothing too formal. Practice is after school Tuesday. See you then! B. Hi everyone,
Our playday is this Saturday at Riverside Secondary in Coquitlam. They have three courts so it will be continuous play all morning. We start at 9, please be there by 8:30. We should conclude by 2pm at the latest. Here is the schedule. Practices will be this Thursday at 5pm and next Tuesday at 5pm unless you here otherwise. Then it is off to Vegas for most of us! Please get your final payment cheques to me ASAP. Still no news on our league schedule, should know soon though. Hi all,
a quick note about the tournament this Friday at BURNSVIEW (even though the tournament is being run by Seaquam, our round robin games are all at Burnsview). Here is the schedule. We play our first game at 3:30 so you will be excused from class at 2:15. Vegas: I spoke to all of those players going today. Some reminders on your end: arrange travel insurance, make sure you have the required documentation to cross the border, check your cell phone plan so you don't get nailed with a big bill when you return. Please have final payments in to me no later than Wednesday next week. Sorry, forgot you aren't at school all day on Tuesday. So, Wednesday at 3:00, probably Thursday too, same time.
Wednesday will only be an hour, Thursday a bit longer. On Wednesday, those players going to Las Vegas will need to spend a few minutes with me after practice talking about some details. cheers, see you soon, Burge |
